Body fat can now be removed with the latest technology known as laser assisted liposuction. This method is also known as Smartlipo, laser lipolysis and laser assisted lipolysis.
In the old methods, the fat had to be disrupted from the tissue that was holding it by using force, so that it could be removed by liposuction. Even though the fat removal was actually effective this way, patients were traumatized by this method. The latest method being used for fat reduction is laser assisted liposuction.
Another method known as Smartlipo, has the same principle with the use of laser assisted liposuction, but places less of mechanical force on the tissue holding the fat. Heating is used to melt the fat and then the laser assisted liposuction removes the water from the fat.
The upper abdomen and the back have deposits of gritty fat which require greater force for breaking up. For this, energy is diverted via fiber optic cables for raising the heat level to 42 degrees C and melting the lipids, which can then be removed by laser assisted liposuction.
Laser assisted liposuction has heat generated on the tips of the cables and this shrinks the tissue of the collagen which is beneficial for fat removal. Doctors are yet to come to terms with the most effective wavelength which should be used for laser assisted liposuction.
The most effective wavelength of laser in melting the fat is going to be the obvious choice for use. The most effective way seems to be the dual laser wavelength.

What is popular is the dual laser wavelength which removes water from the fatty tissues as well as from the dermis. The equipment manufacturers suggested the 1064 nm or the 924 nm for absorption of the fats or lipids. Heat generation takes place in both and the fat gets melted giving almost the same result.
